i know alot of guys that make a living with a backhoe and a single axle 5 yard dump. most of them that is all they have and have had the same two pieces of equipment for longer then i have been on this earth (26yrs). my grandpa started in the fifies with a hoe and truck, by the 70's he had expanded to a rather large equipment base but by the 90's he was back down to just a hoe and truck because everything else was to much of a headache!
