I traded a 02 Dakota 2WD last fall and the best I ever could get was 21 MPG on long trips on shorter trips it was around 17-19 and in the winter it would fall off to around 15 MPG it had the 4.7 litre engine and it would suck gas like a python eating gnats if you let it set around and idle very much. Went back to a 03 with a Cummins and life is good again more room and much better fuel economy
