Some of the old Caterpillars make some music, my favorite being the the big slow turning 4 Cyl. D8800 engine in the D7, even better under a load and from a distance, have to get someone else in the seat, to run it though. Still fresh in my mind, had it running yesterday ! It's also great to hear the farmers 620 JD across the valley echoing in, he brings it out for planting and other tasks, every so often, it's been kept in good shape too. With so many developments slated to be built, there won't be a piece of farmland around here for miles, except ours and his ( and he's got his for sale and he's a die hard farmer ! ) It's always a treat to see any tractor in the field for that matter, and he showed up early to plow our best field this year, I've rarely ever missed this annual event since I was a kid, I feel like I missed something LOL ! Strange thing was, this year I found a knitted winter pull over type hat with the business name on it, out there on the edge of the field, must have fell out of the cab, glad to have found it, he'll get a kick out of it when I bring it over to him.
