I agree with Joe.If it does chip,and its not as tough as advertised,it does not beadblast off well.Ive had to remove it with wood chisels then try to beadblast away the rest.I also feel it never achieves the gloss of paint if you want that overestored look.It has its place and Ive used it for battery trays and such.Paint will be cheaper to have done.I would think on a rim if there are any weak spots in the powder coat it might chip installing the tire.It is somewhat tougher than paint in general.
