Allan, Now!.. I understand what you want. May I suggest look around and find an old Drag-type Graham-Hoame chiesel plow, Add a set of beaver tails and there you go.... one "Sand-Fighter" ready to go. I got my 13 drag type for $50 bucks, put on 2 tires, and 13 new sweeps and I have all if $200 in it counting purchase price.
Now back to your Q about that 5x7. There is no reason why you couldn't 13, 15 or 17 shanks wide in a Sand-Fighter application.
I have been there-none-that on dryland places. I remember we fought sand all one winter in 81 on a dryland 320, every 2 weeks It would start back to blowing, was never so glad to see early spring rains than that year.
