Tell us more about these worn rings and if there are a few of them stuck, exacly how many are there?!
Stuck rings will definitely cause blow-by and oil usage, so you may yet only need to free them off and reassemble! Keep a note of exactly where each ring goes and it"s position (gap) on the piston, just in case nothing is worn near max wear tolerance. Check side clearance of rings - that can seriously contribute to oil usage, but that is easily remedied.
