Flooded cell deep cycle batteries vs flooded cell cranking batteries. Have an many or more lbs of lead and acid than an equal sized cranking battery.
The plates are fewer and thicker.
The plate surface is smooth rather than a "sponge" surface with more lead to acid contact area.
The lead maynot be pure soft lead but alloyed with calcuim etc.
Flooded cell lead/acid batteries will be gradually replaced with AGM lead/acid batteries.
