A few weeks ago, I posted a question about a 986 with no 3pt. Well, I went and looked at the tractor and the headgasket was leaking a slow seep. The dealer then took the head off, and discovered that the engine needed a complete rebuild. They also decided it needed a clutch and are replacing it at the same time. Yesterday I found out they found that the TA is also very poor, and they are going to replace it. So now the tractor has a new engine including sleeves, pistons, bearings, etc. as well as a new clutch and now a TA. The tractor has very nice metal, they replaced any bad glass in the cab, and will paint the tractor as well. (They do a nice job painting. If seen other tracors they have done.)I can buy this tractor with all work done, new paint, working AC and heat, 50% rubber for $9000.00 What do you guys think of that for a price? Thanks for any opinions. P.S. 3pt is not needed as I already have 4 decent sized tractors with 3pts. This will be used 90%+ for pulling a round baler and a haybine.
