Ouch 34-0-0 is $285 a ton in N. Tx and I thought that was high. I have worried numerous times about that. Don't have a clear cut answer as too many variables. Asked the fert dealer and he agrees with the variables. But I do not recall ever applying fert and not getting benefit from it. If you are applying 34-0-0 over wheat this time of year it means you are top dressing it and that as either Thurlow or NC mentioned, the leaves will absorb some, if it is evaporating, on the way out. On the flip side, the leaves would make for higher humidity on the surface so the ground should absorb more than if it were just lying out on bare ground. Funny I was topdressing a field a couple of days ago (34-0-0) with really high humidity, and after finishing the field on the way out (where I had started a couple of hours earlier), I looked at the ground and the little white dots were gone; replaced with a little wet ring in the dirt. Had already dissolved. Regardless, what's done is done and worrying won't do a thing for you but get you a heart attack or an ulser. Mark

The need for fabricating becomes obvious when you go to buy any of these
