Sean, Add a good clean lubrication oil to the cup and reinstall it. You will need to keep the debris and muck that will settle in the bottom of the cup cleaned out. Replace it with clean oil. Be sure to fill it to the OIL LEVEL mark. It will be sucked up a bit into the media or screen in the top portion to give it a coating of oil that dust/debris will cling to and be washed down into the cup when the engine is off.
