If the hydraulic filter is old and very dirty, it may be necessary to replace it. Sometimes those wire mesh filters can"t be cleaned enough. Also, there are copper crush washers that maintain proper clearance for the hyd. fluid. I don"t know where they all are, check with a Long dealer or call the company. I have a 1980 610 and I feel your pain on the 2 pumps. I have done that plus the power steering hydramotor at the base of the steering wheel. Also, it might be a good idea to replace the hyd. fluid(2 drain plugs). Good luck.
