I have had both of these tractors.The 656 is a real good tractor realy liked it.Still have my late model 1650.For what you want to use it for I would take the 1650 more gears tighter turning radius, tilt wheel,swingaway pedals.You didn't say gas or diesel mine where diesels the IH was better on fuel.656 I had was a glow plug start and the Oliver is direct start.Nearest dealer might make a difference on decission.
