Be very careful when sandblasting sheet metal. You should be ok with a low powered unit, but here is a story to illustrate my point. 'bout 12 years or so ago I was working road construction sand blasting concrete with a sand blasting unit that looked something like an oversised wringer washer and a big diesel air compressor running that. I was "subcontracted" for a couple days to an area merchant who wanted some things blasted. He had an old tractor hood off of a JD or something. I made one pass down the length of it, and it rolled up into something like a stove pipe.. Me and the owner just stood gaping at that. Never seen anything like it before or since. Worked just great on a semi-trailor frame he had though :) Use caution, and good luck.
