My grandfather had two hip replacements (both on the left hip) and after the second one wore out the doctor didn"t think another one would help. For the last few years that Gramp farmed (up until he was nearly 80) he used his crutch to work the clutch on our tractors. Made for some interesting times when us boys stacked hay on the wagons, but it kept him farming for several years past when he would have otherwise.
