Draning the calcium from the tires won't make any diffence in how fast the wheel corrodes. If it has had a leak in the past and wasn't cleaned up good before it went together, it will rust out. If the calcium hasn't ever touched the rim then it won't rust. As was said when you pull the plug the calcuim will shoot a really good stream so watch where it is pointed and the wind. You can slip a small hose over the end of the valve stem after you pull the plug to control the flow but it is messy and you will probably take a bath in it. Also be sure to rinse everything off with fresh water when done.
