Let me tell ya of the idiots I see in my travels. Every day I drive 82 miles to work and 82 miles home. I tend to drive at or near the limit unless I am passing slower traffic and then only go up 5 or 10 to get around and out of the way. Odly enough I have only 4 stop signs in all that. So I'll start there. The first one is located where 3 seperate state routes merge. Two come from the north and split to their own dircetion, no stops. 1/2 mile down the third, picked up where the others split, splits off, no stop. The limit there is 55 all the way through. All traffic coming from the south or other directions has stop signs. It never fails that on one of the splits a large truck will pull out and force all traffic doing 55 to come to a complete stop. Those big boys will even run the signs thinkin that "I can get up to speed before you can cover 100' at 55", if they just get a running start at it. Once I pass this mess it's pretty clear saling for the next 20 miles or so. Unless you happen across the empty big rig running 50 in a 55. Its nice and flat through here. Passing generally isn't a problem. However should you try and commit the sin of passing a slow moving truck, you tend to be met with the ton-o-black smoke from the dual crome gods as he now has found two extra cylinders and gets that puppy up to 65 before you can get around him. Then rides you a$$ for 2 miles making sure you don't dare drop back down anywhere near the speed limit. Then you get to a small town that has a 40 mph speed limit no stop. Starts well out of town and doesn't pick back up till your quite aways out. Most trucks know better that to screw around in a small town. But seems like at least one thinks 60 is close enough to 40 and rides me like a tired ol mule all the way through. The next 15 is pretty open until we get close to the interstate. 55 for everybody and generally will tuck in behind a line of trucks. This is where I hit my second stop sign. Unspoken rule is trucks on the right car on the left. Pretty good grade going up here for the next little bit. Everybody is happy, unless.... But bout once, maybe twice, a week some lead foot pullin 80,000 has just gotta get in that left lane to show all us speed demeon car freeks what its like to spend two miles going up hill at 25 is like. Now is where the fun begins. Some d@mn fool in our state guberment thinks its "much, Much, MUCH" safer to have all the big boys running 10 slower than the tinney boppers on the interstate. In reality its more like 20 (55/75). Wonder where that idiot got his degree. Anyway, stay to the right is my motto. Keeps me from gettin run down. But to do that very long requires me to do 10 under. So I try to gage it, pass when it clear and wait when its not. So I get to see a lot of the little tricks the bigins play on the speed freeks. Wait till that 75 mph traffic is at your rear bumper swerve left and pass the truck in front of ya doing 55 at 56 mph, while a line of 75 mph traffic is standing on the brakes behind ya. 3-4 miles later blend back in after waiting for the lead race car to switch to the right lane, because he is now two truck lenghts pass the truck he passed. Catch the lead speed freek in between the two trucks doing 55, blocked in by two miles of backed up traffic going by. Next batch comes up and the fool that was just passed will do the same thing and pass the truck that just passed him. After 20 miles of this junk I get to a three lane section that generally at some point will have the big rigs in each lane all viving for the lead position. Of course its done a 56 mph with 30+ cars piled up behind. Well now I get to switch interstates and have only bout 15 to go. Here there is always some fool running 80 to catch ya, comes right over and slams on the brakes to make an exit. Trucks tend to stay left for this reason. I don't blame them, but here again that rocket sceintist in the state capital appearently doesn't drive this section of road very much. It it a real dog race between trucks trying to keep it constanct and the derby cars that think "if I just get pass this one my life will be different". Here I kinda take the gloves off. No way in he!! am I gonna stop in the middle of an interstate for some fool entering the highway like a bull dozer just because he thinks a 10 ton garbage truck has the right of way. That his merge sign not mine. And I have seen many a finger as he is slowing down the the break down lane. I finaly exit for my last stop. So do several trucks. Here 99% of the truck go's left and 99% of the cars go right. Industry to the left, office to the right. The exit is not exactly marked for two lanes but is plently wide enough for three. It never fails a truck will pull up to that sign as far right as he can get, leaving 20' of dry pavement on his left, wait 10 mins for the 3 lanes east and 3 lanes west to clear so he can dive straight across the 3 east lanes and make a left to go west. All the while traffic is backing up onto the interstate because the off ramp is full of folks waiting on his a$$ to turn right and enter the complex where I work.

Then I get to deal with a whole different set if idiots!
