Indy, First, thanks for the help with the planters... But the best JD built was the 4240... We have one with almost 25,000 hrs and it has had more abuse than any tractor I've ever seen under any conditions (worn out 2 loaders, rolled over once, involved in a terrible accident on the highway, and 23 years of heavy tillage with few problems. (I did in-frame it at 12,000hrs) Original clutch and trans (QR). As for the IH's, IH builds a great ENGINE... If I ever crack my elbow trying to shift another '86 series again it'll be to soon.
