True but you need to keep yer eyeball on the tach and since about 1000 rpm is half throttle for the 2000 to 2100 PTO rpm Deere's I've had and idle is around 600, you don't have much room for error. I agree that the baler may be run at 1000 correctly with a kit. My JD 530 manual talks about both and my 530 is clearly marked on the tongue "540 rpm only". I pulled this stunt with a bush hog type mower once. Had a 100 hp tractor and a 6' mower. Was a lot quieter and better fuel economy, but had to watch her. Now there isn't near as much rollin on a mower than a baler so the results of error are much greater for you. HTH Mark
