The "S" stands for snow and is normally found on the right side of the tractor. The hieght is approxiamately 3/4 inch taller and due to the difference in sizes of tires a heat friction is built while plowing snow which helps to melt the snow and soften ice for easier removal. If the "S" is located on both sides of the tractor, a heat minimization will often occur which actually enhances the freezing and makes snow and ice removal nearly impossible in many circumstances.
