A magneto is an AC device so there is very little metal transfer at the points.They do not require frequent tune ups like a battery coil system does.If they put out good spark I leave them alone.The points are tungsten and if anything a flex stone can refinish them.Not much can go wrong with them electrically.Thats why they are required on aircraft.If it aint broke...
