Nah, don't pay no $1,800 for a tranny for that. Cruise around looking for a junk truck in someones back yard, if you find one in someones back yard you could probably buy the whole thing for $500, granted the truck would be junk, but if the tranny was ok then you'd be ahead by quite alittle. You might also take out an ad in the local paper in the parts section and find one for a whole lot less that way. I don't know where your at, but most of the trucks of that year have already been junked as the bodies rust out before the drivetrain goes due to all the roadsalt used in the winter. The scrapyards are full of them also, so you migt want to give them a call, and last I knew the scrapyards allowed you to bring something like that back if it was no good. Hope this helps!
