Beginning with the production of the late-styled Model
B (1947), the designation BNH and BWH was dropped.
That designation was replaced by the BN and BW. All
BN's and BW's (1947-1952) had the two-piece front
pedestal and longer axles with the corresponding
longer axles. Most of the BN's and BW's had 42" rear
rubber, but the option of 38" rears was available. The
key to determining whether or not your tractor is a BN is
the rear axle housing. The rear axle on a BN (and BW)
will have a B2406R casting number. The regular row-
crop Model B had the B2405R rear axle housing. The
BN and BW are referred to as high-clearnace tractors,
but they have no "H" designation. Also, the single front
on a BN would be 16" unit (there was a 10" single front
unit availble for the regular Model B.
