Unsafe conditions and unsafe acts are the reasons for injuries. Any time someone does somethings they HAVE to look at it and ask them selves if there is anything they feel unsafe with. If they do feel it is unsafe , it is. ANY unsafe condition needs to be corrected. This can be done with gaurds, distance, propertools, or proper PPE (personel protective Equip). Unsafe acts are more common sense. Short cuts should never be taken. Working on something with out secure footing or balance is a major cause for falling into something. I am amazed at things people have done, including myself, to save time or save a buck, leaving the potential for a lifetime of disability or death to them selves or others. I am just getting into farming again after being in the manufacturing enviroment for 13 years and there is SOOO much that I have learned that I will make this farm safe for myself and children. There really is not much out there for safety on the farm for green people. Please every one if it looks unsafe, feels unsafe, it is. ALWAYS disconnect power sources, LOCK them out. Support equipment with blocks and pins, dont rely on hyd pressure to hold some thing. People have lost fingers just from working on some thing as simple as breaking a baler chain with some one.I know we all do an unsafe act or accept an unsafe condition every day. Injuries can be avoided. Best of health to every one!

Jon's Allis has a small front loader and though it doesn't carry much, it serves his needs. It was the hard starting and low power that made him think it was time to replace the old girl. Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
