Your post doesn't outline a single thing that these guys did wrong. It is curious that the guy would offer $200 more than asking price only a short time after asking for your best price. It is always a bad idea to tell anyone the location of equipment via email. Still, there is nothing wrong with anything that occurred per your email.
Did they ask you to give the extra $200 to a third party? What is up that makes you so suspicious of them. Maybe they just REALLY want to buy your tractor? I am just puzzled because the post doesn't sound like the communications were all that sinister.
