First off, here's a picture of an early model 2440. This is a 1978 model. (I have the original sales invoice) I'll leave my email addy uncovered. If you're interesed, send me the serial #, and the engine block#, and I'll match them up with what info on 2440's I have. (I have a fairly substancial "library" on this model tractor) A 1982 model would be a Manhiem Germany built tractor, with the different hood/dash/stripes/ect. like you refered to. Sounds to me like you have a "salvage tractor" built with various parts from several tractors. (Maybe a rebuilt roll-over for instance)
