I tend to agree with Red Dave; they both have their place. I&T manuals are not reprints or copies of OEM manuals as someone else stated. I&T manuals give less info, but in most cases assume the mechanic DOES NOT have access to special factory tools and helps to get around that. They also assume a relatively high skill level. Factory manuals generally go into far more detail, but also assume you have every special tool the manufacturer ever released, and gives few alternatives to them.
