Some things to be aware of before putting your money in the pot. 1. CAFO operations are currently under investigation for applicability to Clean Air Act standards as major sources of HAP emissions. This operation goes well over the trigger limit, and most likely will be subject to a Title V air permit within a few years. It's expensive. You'll be looking at probably upwards of $100k in equipment and modifications to obtain this permit. 2. Nothing, I mean nothing, brings out community opposition like a large scale hog operation. Doesn't matter where you are, or what type of operations are already existing. Folks go bonkers when it comes to hog operations. Be ready for massive political and legal fights, and to quite possibly have the county or state change zoning on you to specifically prevent the operation. Seen this happen a number of times.
