If you are worth your salt then you will try again. It takes time for people to know who you are, recognize your name, associate it with their own values and most of all remember it when they are voting. People tend to vote the names that they can recognize and remember and that is why incumbents tend to win again and again. Keep trying, make sure people know who you are and what your intentions are and you will get the position.
