5.2 is terrific. Get as much OPTICAL ZOOM as you can find. Get standard recharagble batteries and get a standard card---not brand specific.-------then get a card reader rather than trying to download to acomputer and you will love it! the sd cards are very small and the 512 mg has come to below 50$ for $350 or so you can get a great outfit. I do some freelance writng/photography and love mine.. Make sure to get one without a brand specific memory card. I carry my extra sd cards and an extra battery in an "Altoids" tin. My only complaint on mine is that it doesn't use standard recharageable batteries.
