Can it help,yes,if you keep your foot out of it.I put a chip in my Ford dually and ran it on the lowest setting above stock in hopes of better milage but it only got worse then I realized I was in the throttle more because I liked the extra power I had.I started driving "normally" again and it did jump up,but only a couple MPGs.
