I hadn't heard of the forum you mentioned until now. I have a 1996 Ford 1720 that is an absolute joy. I looked at larger tractors, but really didn't like the physical size of them. I was making a purchase for vegetable growing on a small holding, so the smaller tractor made sense. Easy to get on and off of, etc. It handles a 54" roto-tiller well in my sandy loam soil. The quick attach loader does a respectable job for its size. I like the old tractors, but for functionality the newer ones really do have the edge overall---in my opinion.
