Up here, at least in Alberta and the rest of Canada I think, the OPD valve is available if you want to buy a bottle with it on (more expensive) however the older style are still used for the most part (although they have the newer external barbeque threads as well as the old style internal ones)on both brand new and recycled bottles. A lot of Canadians with trailers have found out the hard way that when they are on holidays stateside, they can't get those bottles filled. And if you really want to get confused, phone around and ask if a current certification is needed on your propane powered vehicle, you will get 10 different answers from 10 different experts.
