I read an article the other night about a guy who took oil from local restaraunts, added lye and rubbing alchohal to it mixed it all up, let it seperate and then syphon off the oil from the top. This leaves a glycerin base, but he said that he used this in a kerosoen heater and the only smell he got was a little fishy smell, but it burned clean. He also told of a guy who grew peanuts and did the same thing with peanut oil, then fed the ground peanuts to his cattle.
