Sky, The deal with box blades is that weight is needed for them to do a good (or even decent) job. You might be able to buy one cheap and then weld on 7-800 pounds of steel and make it work, but at that weight, it will probably fail. The 3 point setup is pretty cheezy on them. It"s up to you, but you do get what you pay for. Rule of thumb -> 20-30 pounds of implement weight per tractor Hp for ground engaging implements. My box blade is a Gannon Landscaper LB120 (IIRC) that is 66" wide, has retractable scarifiers and weighs about 900#. I don"t worry about hitting a root or a rock...
