The 1850, 4020, 190XT, etc. were all considered five bottom (16") bottoms in our area. The area had a mix of light to heavy clay soil. I also depends on how fast you are plaqnning on plowing. These tractors normally used plows that worked best between 3 and 4 mph (second gear on the 1850). Newer plows are designed to be pulled faster to turn the soil over correctly. As a result, they take more power. Irom on the plow tends to wear out faster when you plow faster.
