Can't help on the no-charge, but when I replaced the alt. on my 88 F150 I had to replace the harness that plugged into the alternator, came with the alt. at no charge- parts guy said it was because of as fire hazard with the old harnesses. Did you have to replace it or here anything about it? Donovan from Wisconsin
