Hey Paul,
Did you ever get to fly a Pitts? I bought one (homebuilt) then built another one that I modified. Put a Hio360 200+ HP helicopter lycoming on it with a thined and raked prop.
I was the Illinois State unlimited aerobatic champion in 1993 and 1994 with that Pitts.
Lost my medical so collect tractors now! I always said that flying upside down is the most fun a man can have with his pants on!
And yeah I remember craning my neck to watch the B-36's. My grandpa also craned His neck since He was born in 1867, 33 years before the Wright bros first flew.
