i dont know what brand your fourwheeler is but i have an '04 polaris and the factory oil is an 0w-40 synthetic oil. some manufacturers dont make their vehicles for synthetics. when changing from regular oil to synthetic you have to blend the regular and synthetic oil together and each oil change put more synthetic in each time until you reach 100% synthetic. i learned this the hard way on my ih 674. put in full synthetic and a year later had to do a full engine rebuild because the oil wore it out to fast. after rebuild and break in i started blending until i reached full synthetic. 5 years later and still doesnt burn a drop. if i were you i'd start blending or just use factory oil. matt
