The hydraulic filter is on the right side inside the reservoir under the seat. It is a long tube made out of fine screen with a flange on the outside end. You have to loosen and remove the short piece of hose on the hydraulic line, remove the small bolt on the reservoir that holds the filter flange flush and pull the filter straight out to clean it. If I remember right (it has been a while)there may be an o-ring behind the flange to seal it when you reassemble. the Service Manual from CIH dealer gives a better description of the procedure.
