I can't help you on the Interstate/Walmart question, but I had a lot of batteries. The best were a set from CaseIH that I installed in the combine and are still good after 8 years. I do start it about once a month all year. I have had miserable luck and very good luck with Interstate batteries. Although they have on occasion not lasted long enough, the dealer is a local supplier and worth supporting. Same varied luck with JD batteries. I owned a set that have been thru hell. A friend borrowed and overcharged them in his combine after he blew his up from the same overcharging. Later they fell out of combine battery holder and tumbled 5 ft to the ground. He returned them with the caps missing, most of the acid gone. After 6 months, I decided to see if they worked or whether their new home would be the scrap yard. After refilling with acid, the things took a charge and are still working 4 years later. Unbelievable! Other Deere batteries have not lasted any longer than the poor Interstates.
