Dam that sucks OR Boys! where's my stubby wrench

Was working with my MF 50C TLB today trying to slope my driveway. Been a wet yr. Trying to improve runoff and prevent having a 4x4 driveway again this yr. Working along just fine and seen some sparks out the front end. Hmmm? Stopped the rig and went up front to investigate - found battery hold down rusted in half and broke. Got me some bungee cords and strapped it back down. Figured while in there I would retighten battery cables. Now where is that stubby 1/2" wrench I use? Dern boys must have run off with it, I sure can't find it. Oh well, get the only handy 1/2" laying around it is about 6" long. Cranking down the battery cables and KA-BLAM!!
Blew the top out of my big battery! Dam, there goes $$ down the drain. Luckily I just got acid on my hands and shirt. Must have grounded the + cable side to the frame with that long wrench. I guess tomorrow I will rob battery from another rig and try to get the job done. Just sharing :)
