It was built in Waterloo, Iowa. From my addition of the monthly build totals from Nov, 1953, I make your tractor to have been built in April, 1954. My source: The John Deere tractor production log contained in the Spring 1994 issue of TRACTOR DIGEST. Nov 1953 125 built Dec 1953 189 built 314 total 1954 models Jan 1954 300 " 614 " Feb 1954 669 " 1283 " Mar 1954 645 " 1928 " Apr 1964 750 " 2678 " 1954 production began @ serial # 16,041. Your serial # 18,355 Your tractor was the 2314th 1954 50 built The last Mar 1954 tractor was the 1928th built. Your tractor, therefore, is a mid April tractor.
