I may be misinterpreting the tone of your post, but you seem to be saying that because the engine is based on a gas engine design, it is a bad engine.
If that is your assumption, then I must assume that you have very little or no knowledge of that particular engine, because it is a very good engine and well worth swapping into another tractor.
