Had a Ford V-10 in my new 99 motorhome. I'm not sure if this was just a bad one but, what a junker. I was getting 750 miles per quart of oil. No smoke, just used a lot of oil. Also, it knocked like crazy when I first started it. I changed over to Shell Rotella 15-40 and that seemed to take care of the knock. Took it to a dealership in Indiana for a number of Ford related issues and the back lot was full of new motorhomes with V-10s waiting for new motors. The problems may have been resolved in the last few years. In any case, there were so many Ford related issues with the motorhome that Ford motor co bought it back. That was it for me with their V-10.
