Just asking, wouldn't a slider be the best way to go on a door of that size? I certainly am no expert on doors, but I elected to go with a 16' wide x 14' tall on the new barn I'm building for both cost and durability. I slide the door open or closed, as it hangs, very little moving parts, and is rigid. I don't know, although now that I think of it, they do have such large bi-folding doors (vertical, not horizontal) in smaller airport hangers. Maybe someone at your local airport could give you tips (pluses and minus's) on one. I couldn't imagine trying to handle a bi-folding door of that size if it opened outward horizontal if is ever in a windy location. And I certainly wouldn't want to be under or anywhere near an overhead door of that size if it broke a spring or slipped a track, or a track support came loose, or if lost commercial AC for the electric opener (I aint got that kind of muscle). That's a big door. Good luck. Mark.
