I cannot figure out why the newer Fords get the worse their mileage seems. You'd think a modern fuel injected engine would do better than a Carbureted 68 6 cyl, but no.
Also the gearing on both is so high it is hard to start out in first without slipping the clutch too much, and fifth gear is seldom used except downhills .
I miss my GMC 4.3 4 x 4.. it got close to 20 highway empty. Maybe someday I will put a second 700r4 in it and drive it again.
