In central Minnesota we normally figure about 200 bales for the season, about 45# per bale, three cuttings. In recent years it's been common to take four cuttings on a 28-32 day schedule, starting in late May, especially with haylage. I did that for a couple of years and it seemed like I made haylage all summer and fall. Stayed with the three cuttings. June 1- Sept. 10.
