YEAH BUT..... my dad prolly put more than 3 times as much in one bale as you would do nowadays! That old MH 701 with the Wisconsin VE4 used to pack it in. String cost money. Then we had to pitch "em on to the trailer and stacked 6 or 7 high, then hand-balled into the barn roof. I can remember pitching with two people on each bale! Not even allowed to lift that much manually these days. No comparison in number of bales per hectare (or acre) is really possible, so many variables to take into account. My 2p worth.
