If you are still thinking generator, grounding the field will take the regulator out of the circuit, not polarize it. Do you have a volt meter. Questions? find me on the Oliver page. I am looking because we are putting together a tech articel for the Oliver news letter on how to troubleshoot these problems. Merry Christmas.
