I don't think there is or ever was a harder starting tractor built than the JD 730 Diesel.40 some years ago my tractor and combine was 10 miles from home,it was extremely cold and I still had beans to cut(had to wait until the ground froze up and no place to plug the engine heater in).I heated up new oil in quart cans(metal back then) at home.Went to the field and drained the cold oil.Put the warm oil in and she started right up like it was spring day.
